Prayer is not about sweating is about you experiencing a change of Story – Bishop David Oyedepo

Bishop David Oyedepo has once again declared that the proof of effective prayer is not in how much noise you make, but the kind of outcome you receive.

He made this statement during his sermon at the Covenant Hour of Prayer meeting. He started by establishing that the place of prayer is ordained for giving believers spiritual authority.

“The place of prayer is ordained for your spiritual authority. It’s not about the noise you make in prayer, it is the outcome from prayers,” he said.

He then narrated how a lady in a conference he attended many years ago, was making a lot of noise in prayer, and how it was not effective as there was no proof of a change in her life, in spite of all the noise she made.

“I was once in a conference many years ago in the 70s, and someone was praying very loud. Her voice was the only voice people were hearing. I don’t know if she got anything from her prayer. It is not about the noise you make in prayer, but the consciousness of the objective of your prayer,” he said.

On the other hand, he narrated how he spent some time in prayer, and when he was done, he heard God tell him to go to a particular church to preach. As he went to the church to preach, the pastor of the church told him that God said someone would be coming to preach in the church that day!

“You can imagine walking to a church and saying I’m preaching here. Not that you came on Saturday to prepare for it,” he said.

“It’s not about your clothes shining; it’s about what comes out of it. It’s not about you sweating; it is about you experiencing a change of level,” he said.
