A renowned and outspoken Ghanaian preacher, Prophet Nicholas Osei, who is known as Kumchach, has revealed his mind on the controversial issue of tithe.
In an interview posted on the official Facebook page of Hitz FM in Accra, Ghana, he said that he is in agreement with the payment of tithes because preachers need money to take care of themselves and their daily activities. He said that ministers of the gospel sacrifice their time for the propagation of the gospel, which seems to be the only occupation of most preachers. He mentioned some of the things preachers use tithes for.
He said that tithes are used to propagate the gospel in the form of crusades, organizing radio programmes, payment of church workers and building of offices, while the remaining is spent among the preachers. He said that the car he brought for the radio interview wasn’t fueled with palm oil but with petrol. He said that he doesn’t have any work aside from the propagation of the gospel, so he depends on tithes from the church
