Read the True Story behind how Archbishop Benson Idahosa Married Margaret Izevbigie

Archbishop Benson Idahosa was a man of rare anointing and rekindled love for God and his savior Jesus Christ. The few years he spent on earth was a radical life that brought deliverance, liberation and dominion to lives of people in Africa and all over the continents of the world.

He demonstrated raw power of God and dominated the space of spirituality in Nigeria, Africa and the world. He was sort by blacks, whites and all races of the world because of the work of God he does with passion and conviction. He was also recognized by the powers of darkness, those with familiar spirit and people who practiced witchcraft as a whole.

Archnbishop Idahosa was born in the land of Edo State and for most part of his early years as a child he was a sickly child. He was thrown on the rubbish heap at a point after he was born by his parents so that he can die right there. His father John Idahosa, so hated him because of his feeble and sickly nature. Benson wasn’t as strong as the other children when he was given birth to by his mother.

Miraculously, Benson Idahosa got healed, became healthy and looks fresh as his age increases. His mother was glad she didn’t leave him in a rubbish heap to die.

Archbishop Benson Idahosa worked at Bata Company back then before starting full time ministry. He got the work through the help of his grandfather who helped and linked him to someone in Bata Company, Benin, Edo State. As he started working (this was few years after he gave his life to Christ), he became so loved by his co-workers and even his senior colleagues. He was a very hard working man and a dutiful person who spends his time giving his best to the organisation.

Soon after he started working at Bata Company he rose in rank and began enjoying rare privileges from the company. The salary he got from the company he was working for, he was able to save part of the money and spent some in the church to buy things needed in the local church he attended.

As Benson Idahosa kept going to church services he was getting more engaged for the things of God. He had this uncommon passion for the things of God. He was very close to his Pastor then in person of Pastor Okpo who nurtured him in the ways of Christ at the early stage of his Christian journey. He soon rose to become a Pastor assisting Pastor Okpo.

Some years before his conversion he was introduced to a young lady then called Margaret Izevbiegie by one of his friends in the neighborhood. Soon after his conversion they got close and he told her he wanted to be her brother that could help her and give her godly counsel, since she has no brother that could perform that role. Margaret accepted the request. She was at that time 15 years old, Margaret would always come to report issues to Benson as people trespass and Archbishop would always defend her anytime some trespasses.

People in the locality soon took Archbishop Benson Idahosa has her brother, as such, they kept a distance from oppressing her because they feared Benson for his well-built physique.

As time goes by, Benson began to preach to Margaret Izevbiegie about Christ because in her family the older women worshiped Olokun (water goddess) and they were all idol worshipers. As Benson kept persisting in preaching the gospel to Margaret, she kept rejecting the preaching of Benson.

However, one fateful day something bad happened in the family of Margret, her uncle’s baby died that very day and the dead baby was been dressed for burial. Coffin was bought for the burial of the baby, some people were assigned to bath the dead child and dress her for burial. As all these things were going on in the companies, people were weeping and Margaret wasn’t left out too Benson Idahosa came around to visit Margaret as he often did.

When Benson Idahosa arrived the compound he saw Margret crying he asked what was going on, he then told by Margret that her uncle’s baby died. Benson Idahosa felt something different within him that day and he called on the parents of the child to send to the mourners for him to pray. After all the mourners left the room Benson Idahosa and the parent of the dead child was left alone in the room to pray. As Benson was praying for the child to come back to life, the child sneezed and came back to life. The whole place was thrown into unusual happiness and jubilation.

In the same vein, Margaret who has been putting away the gospel messages preached by Benson repented in her room that day and gave her life to Christ. Soon she was invited to come to church by Benson Idahosa. The day she came for service the message then was talking about “the second coming of Christ” when she heard the gospel she repented fully at this time. After this encounter she continued going to church with Benson without any objection by her mother despite the fact that they were idol worshipers.

Shortly after Margret finished from the Teachers’ Training Institute, Archbishop Benson Idahosa wasted no time in telling her his conviction by the Lord that he should get married to Margaret Izevbiegie. After Benson proposed to her she started crying. You want to know why? Remember, Benson has been standing as a “brother” before now and people around has taken him to be her brother.

That same day, Benson Idahosa proceeded to her mother’s house and told her his intention. The mother of Margaret was happy about it.

They both got married April 6, 1969.

As Margaret began to adjust to the life of being a Christian and a pastor’s wife, she had a massive transformation at a camp meeting were she began to experience God in a special way.
