Reno Omokri advices Christians not to Bother Paying Tithes And Offerings If They Cannot Do This

Unforgiveness is cancer that has eaten deep into the church. When I say the church, I don’t refer to the decorated edifice, but in fact, the true church which entails the called-out ones.

It will be surprising to see that those we refer to as children of God find it difficult to let go of offences committed against them.

Speaking on this glaring issue, Reno Omokri, a human rights activist and former aide to ex-president Good Luck Jonathan, has decided to shed light on this often ignore topic- unforgiveness

Reno Omokri made a post on Twitter where he advised Christians not to waste their resources in paying tithes, offerings, vows and pledges when they still harbour unforgiveness in their hearts.

According to him, such offerings or tithes will be a waste of resources and it will be better to spend that money on personal enjoyments while expecting no reward from God.

Reno Omokri is very correct as his assertion is biblical. We can see that Jesus also emphasized the importance of settling disputes and grievances with others before giving our gifts to God

In Matthew 5:23-24 which says “Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first, be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.”

As true believers, we are to do away with all forms of unforgiveness so that our offerings will be accepted and recognised by God
