One of the most controversial Evangelism drama ministers in the country is Ore Ofe Williams. The distinctive aspect of his drama outfit is the use of the popular secular drama actors to characterize Christian roles in evangelism drama. Ore Ofe Williams is from Ogun State. He was also among the average Nigerians that watched the Mount Zion Ministries movies, in the early 90s. He was also among those who used to sneak out to watch the “Agbara Nla” and the “Ide Esu” series on the Nigerian television stations in the southwestern part of the nation in the early 90s.

From there, he has grown the interest, to also venture into Christian movie productions. Not just to act in it, but, to also create a unique style, in which people would be able to access the gospel of Christ. The Nigerian contemporary Christian community, most especially the Pentecostal denominations are always drawn towards what is referred to as “spirit-Koko” a coinage from “spiritual”.

The “Koko”, refers to the extremity with which they hold the gospel of Christ, in that, nothing that tends to adulterate the extent of the belief must be condoned. Hence, featuring the secular actors in Ore Ofe Movies has always come with backlash in the series of movies produced, featuring the Nollywood acts. The likes of Mount Zion and EVOM Movies has some selected acts that are predominantly into the production of Christian movies. They are not in any way, attributed to secular movie productions.

The Awo Jesus series brought about a very distinct concept in the Evangelism movie characterizations, with the cast of secular drama acts like Mama Awero, and Dele Odule, in lead roles. This changed the way people view his movies and the acceptability across the Christian denominations and doctrines. In another shell, should we say he has cut corners in that, he wants an already baked directorial aspect, which does not have to stress itself in putting through the dramatic script interpretations for any drama act that is not exactly well-grounded in the movie roles? The answer to this is answered in the later improved acceptability of his movies by those who have once condemned his initial concept. The Awo Jesu series brought his movie production prowess into the limelight and greatly improves the acceptability of his specialised characterization of roles, in all the characters employed in his movies.(The secular faces he has featured includes, Yemi Shodimu, Mama Rainbow, Tunbosun Odunsi, Olofa Ina, Dele Odule, etc.)The secular actors/actresses he has featured over the years has cut across various popular faces, noted for different roles in the Yoruba movie arm of Nollywood. Actors and actresses such as Dele Odule, Tunbosun Odunsi, Lanre Hassan(Iya Awero), Olumide Bakare(late), Fokoko(baba elemona), Olofa Ina, and several other renowned Nigerian Nollywood acts, has been featured in his movies.Ore Ofe Williams and the Awo Jesu movie has ensured an indelible impact in the evangelism movie production in modern Christian society.
