Sarah Huckabee Sanders had surgery for thyroid cancer and said thereafter that she is now cancer-free.
Arkansas Republican gubernatorial candidate Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who revealed earlier this month that she had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer, declared herself “cancer-free” on Friday.
Thyroid cancer was discovered during a routine physical earlier this month, Sanders stated in a statement published by The Blaze on Friday.
She went on, “Today I had surgery to remove my thyroid and surrounding lymph nodes, and by the grace of God I am now cancer-free.” “I’d want to express my gratitude to the excellent medical staff in Arkansas, as well as to my family and friends for all their support and prayers. Soon I will be back on the campaign road. This has taught me not to give up no matter how tough the going gets. I pledge to always stand up for the citizens of our beautiful state in my role as governor.
In a successful operation, Dr. John Sims removed Sander’s thyroid and a number of lymph nodes.
Dr. Sims stated in a statement, “We removed Sarah’s thyroid gland and part of the surrounding lymph nodes in her neck, and she is presently recuperating from surgery.” The operation was a huge success, and she should be up and about within the day. The most frequent kind of thyroid cancer, papillary thyroid carcinoma, is in its early stages here.
He said, “I believe it’s fair to say she’s now cancer free, and I don’t foresee any of this slowing her down, even though she will require adjuvant therapy with radioactive iodine and continuing long term follow up.”
Sanders is the former press secretary for President Trump and the daughter of former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee. If she runs for governor of Arkansas in 2022, she will have both Trump’s and his own support.
Chris Jones, her Democratic challenger, sent his best wishes to Sanders as she continued to heal.
Sarah, you have all of our deepest sympathies. We’re keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. This cancer was identified early and you were able to have excellent care. Consider yourself very fortunate. “From our family to yours, here in Arkansas, may God bless you with peace, love, and healing,” the Jones family stated in a statement.
