The Chosen, the online phenomenon series, is returning to cinemas.
The Chosen, which will launch Season 3 Episodes 1 and 2, will visit cinemas on Friday, November 18, over a year after a Christmas special broke box office records.
The holiday-themed movie Christmas with the Chosen smashed the distributor’s record for out-of-the-gate ticket sales last year and earned over $14 million throughout its run (for the first 12 hours). The success of the movie’s ticket sales led to an extension of its theatrical run.
The Chosen’s head of original content Katherine Warnock remarked, “The Christmas special demonstrated to us that we do have a place in the theatrical world.” The Christmas special performed better than we had anticipated.
She went on to say that the popularity of the Christmas special proved that viewers like seeing The Chosen on a large screen.
It was fantastic to go, she said, “because there’s a thirst for The Chosen here to cross over as well as for religion material in the theatrical area.”
It will be the first weekend release of a Chosen movie.
Adam Swerdlow, The Chosen’s chief operational officer, expressed his excitement.
Episodes 1 and 2 will transfer to The Chosen app in December after their theatrical release, according to director Dallas Jenkins.
The series, which is based on the Bible, covers the tale of Jesus and the disciples. An estimated 94.8 million individuals worldwide have seen it.
One of the series’ success factors, according to Warnock, is how accurately it portrays Christ’s humanity.

Seven seasons of the show are planned. On The Chosen app, you may watch it for free and it was crowdfunded.
