Excerpts:
African names, especially Nigeria native names always have meanings. Kumuyi is a Yoruba name and what does it mean?
His Full name is Ikumuyiwa, which means ‘death brought this” he said in the interview that After hr became a Christian, he realised it was the death of Christ that has brought us salvation, and also the redemption and recorded reconciliation we have with God, So to him, the name, Ikumuyiwa, is very significant – Death has brought something Good. The death of Christ ha brought us what the people of Old don’t have ‘Grace’, easy access to the Father, goodness of God.
why did he call his church Deeper life?
He said that the name came from the people, and continued by saying when people received the articles, they came to the Bible studies and said, they have been Christians before, but this one is deeper than what they used to know, so when they used the named deeper life pastor Kumuyi knew he was at the right path, and was leading souls to a deeper relationship with God; according to pastor W.F. Kumuyi that was how those articles became Deeper Christian Life Articles. Then as the church continued with bible studies, the group became known as the Deeper Christian Life Ministry. He was also asked about the titles of his articles and whether the Name deeper Life came from him during when then church started in 1983. He responded by saying, Yes and No. He said that they called the articles they sent out “Deeper Life Articles”. The people themselves were saying those articles were deepening their lives so the came from both sides
