After Joe Biden was projected the winner of the United States of America 2020 Presidential election, Donald Trump claimed the election was far from over, and on countless times he baselessly alleged election fraud. Trump and his allies filed several legal challenges to the results of the election, despite the fact that the US Electoral College later affirmed/confirmed Joe Biden to be the winner “Officially”, yet Trump still went ahead with his lawsuits and it was all rejected by the judges from across the political spectrum, in both the state and federal courts, including by federal judges appointed by Trump himself. The courts found that Trump’s claims had no factual or legal basis
On January 11, 2021, an article of impeachment charging Trump with incitement of insurrection against the U.S. government was introduced to the House, after the violent Pro-Trump protest at US Capitol in Washinghton. The House voted to impeach Trump on January 13 with a majority of 232 to 197, making him the first U.S. officeholder to be impeached twice.
