Reverend Fr. Oluoma Chinenye John, a Catholic Priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja in a video few hours ago on his verified Facebook handle, said sin cannot prevent a man from making Heaven.
According to Rev. Fr. Oluoma from 46 minutes into the video: “Sin does not separate us from God but separation is what kills our relationship with God. I know many of you are shocked. Now this is the popular scripture that makes you think I am wrong.
“In the Book of Isaiah 59:1-3 in the Old Testament, sin takes us away from God. Immediately Jesus Christ came, that statement was abolished. Let me show you how Jesus solved the problem of separation caused by sin.
“Let us look at the Book of Ephesians 2:11-19. You can see that Jesus Christ have abolished the Law on sin of separation. You can even see from that Bible verse that sin was not separating people from God from the beginning.
“Now what separates us from God and what can make us miss Heaven? It is guilt and shame. When Ada and Eve committed sin against God, did God stop coming to the garden of Eden? No! He was still communicating with them.
“There is a difference between you walking away from God and God walking away from you. God doesn’t walk away from us even if we sin. The devil uses guilt and shame to push you away from God and not sin. Once you sin, He will forgive you but once you separate yourself from Him, you can’t make it to Heaven”.
