Sinach's "Waymaker" was Sung by Protesters in US! See why she could bring Grammy to Nigeria

In complete contrast to the general notion that Christian Songwriters are highly likely not to have large audience for their music, Sinach is ultimately changing that narrative with the new global trend of her phenomenal ‘Waymaker’ song. Which has become the anthem of protesters marching against the death of George Floyd in the United States. With the reverberating influence of Sinach’s music, she has been tipped by many to bring the much-coveted Grammy award to Nigeria. One of her fans on Twitter with the username @homiebishop tweeted:

‘Sinach is breaking all barriers in the gospel industry. She has the most viewed Nigeria song on YouTube. Her song is number 1 in the US for more than one month now. Top gospel artistes like Michael Smith now sing ‘waymaker’ on every concert. A legend Sinach.’

Another tweeted:

‘Sinach will bring home the Grammy.

Mark this’. @Morris_Monye

Osinachi Joseph has become the first black gospel artiste to feature number one on the USA Billboard for the category of Christian Songwriters for her song ‘Waymaker’. According to the stats released in May, 2020, the Ebonyi Artiste has been on the chart for more than a month, globally. Thrilling is the fact that the song has been sung in various versions of languages. The song has been streamed for more than 250 million times on YouTube. The virgin video of ‘Waymaker’ is the third most viewed song video on YouTube. Eclipsing all hits of contemporary secular Nigerian artistes.

Consequent upon the release of the song on December 30, 2015, several renown gospel musicians like Michael Smith, Maranda Curtis, Bethel Music, Darlene Zschech, Leeland etc. have covered the heavenly inspired song. Her other epic release includes; ‘Stand Amazed’, ‘Holy, Are you Lord’, ‘Simply Devoted’, ‘I know who I am’ and host of others. Even one of her songs (Chapter one) in her first released album in 2008 won the song of the year.

Her scintillating musical career has launched her to tours and to performing in different continents and more than 50 countries. As expected, the mother of one has been nominated and clinched a handful of awards, some include; LIMA songwriter of the decade, African Achievers’ Award for Global Excellence, Western Africa Artist of the Year and lots more. She also made the list of top 100 Influential Christians in Nigeria.

The first time I heard of Sinach, it never bugled my mind that she’s a Nigerian. When I got to discover, I was overwhelmed with emotions flowing from her musical excellence and artistry. Indeed, Osinachi is a pride of Nigeria and Africa. And I am proud to be a Christian. The song must have been raked from the realms of divine melody.
