Sometime ago, I travelled to South America and after preaching, a young man who is a Nigerian met me and requested a prayer for a breakthrough in his life.

When I asked him what his specific prayer request was, he said: ‘I am about to travel with a cargo; I need prayer so I can cross successfully’. When I asked further, he said, ‘Sir, you should understand’.

At this point, I knew that he was into drug trafficking; he was a drug dealer. Can you imagine the world we are living in! He was asking me to pray for him so he could successfully transport harmful drugs from one country to another without being caught. He met the wrong person. 

Probably, he must have met a man of God who prayed for him in the past and he succeeded in the evil business.

I looked at him and told him, ‘If I pray for you, the prayer will work against you. The prayer will kill you. You are the kind of people who are destroying the image of Nigeria and Nigerians all over the world.’

It is because of people like this man that they say all over the world that Nigerians are corrupt. It is because of someone like this that Nigeria is seen as one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Many of them have been deported because of evil practices like high level internet fraud, drug trafficking and other drug-related offences.

Some of them who succeeded returned home with flashy cars, but the money used in buying those cars is evil or corrupt money.

Beloved, do not envy anyone until you know their full story. 

Sometimes, there are dirty secrets and unpleasant stories behind some people who appear flashy and flamboyant. Refuse to envy the wealth of the wicked.

2. Ask God for the grace to make money in a righteous way.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for Your Word to me today. I receive the grace not to envy the riches of sinners. I receive Your Help to make money legitimately, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
