Starbucks Barista Prays for a Drive-Thru Customer, “Being a Light for Jesus”

“Being a Light for Jesus”: Drive-Thru Prayer by a Starbucks Barista

Two people from Arkansas—a mother and her son—saw a Starbucks barista pray for a client in the drive-thru.

Tanya Hinsley and her son, then a teenager, had just gotten their driver’s licenses, so they headed to a local Starbucks for some behind-the-wheel practice. Cassie, the barista, was seen praying for a client while they waited in the drive-thru queue.

Hinsley photographed the touching interaction and shared it on Facebook last week.

I observed “This morning, a customer in the drive-thru lane at Starbucks on the hilltop asked a stranger to pray with her. Right here is something you may speak about, “Written by Hinsley.

Hundreds of people liked and commented on the post.

For example, “my kid and I were having a talk about how we liked that she stopped what she is doing and was courageous in her beliefs and cared enough to pray with someone,” Hinsley told Fox 10 Phoenix. I caught the tail end of the prayer and thought I’d share it in the hopes of making someone’s day a little brighter.

When she saw how many times the post had been shared by the end of the day, she was “overwhelmed.” “We enjoyed reading the tales of all the other individuals she (Carrie) has helped just by being so nice, praying for others, and just being a light for Jesus!” she said.

Also, after the popular social media event, Hinsley was able to meet Carrie, as she said.

The “wonderful things” that others have spoken to Carrie have filled her heart, and “I believe she was blown away,” as Hinsley put it.

She went on to say that it was individuals like Carrie who gave her hope and served as a reminder that it didn’t cost anything to be nice or to pray for others. One’s words may one day save a life, and one never knows when that day will come.
