Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, the founder of David Christian center sent an important message to the singles in the church who are so desperate to marry.
The man of God however advised the youth to stop being desperate to leave single years. He said that your single years are a gift from God. Your single years are years you should be grateful for. Your single years are not years you are waiting to get married, they are years that you are preparing for life. Most of the world shakers (but in the kingdom and secular) discovered their purposes when they were single and pursued them when they were single. He said that when you are single, the benefit of it is that you can give all the attention to your life and yourself.
He then revealed that from the day you are married, everything about your life is divided. It is easier to be happy when you are single than when you are married. When you are single you can do anything you want to do; when you are married you have to consider another person before you do anything you want to do. When you are single, you can eat anything you like but when you are married, you can’t make vital decisions about what you want to eat. He said that he likes warm places while his wife loves cold places so whenever he enters the room he puts off the AC but when his wife enters, she puts it on. If he were to be single, he could put the AC at any temperature he wants, but as a married man, he has to consider what she wants.
Finally, he advised the single that their single life is not as bad as they think. Don’t let anyone put you under pressure to want to run away from being single. He said that it is okay to desire marriage but it is better to prepare for marriage. Your single years is a gift for you to prepare yourself, not just for marriage, but for life.
