Reverend Father Oluoma Chinenye John, a Catholic Priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja has told believers to stop praying against the spirit of poverty. He also gave his reason for saying so. He disclosed this in a live video on his Facebook handle yesterday.
According to Rev. Fr. Oluoma from 1 hour 4 minutes into the video: The devil is not interested in weather you are poor or rich, he is interested in destroying the vision of the Church as laid down by Jesus Christ.
“In the second temptation of Jesus Christ, the devil told him to knee before him.The devil prefers to make you rich than to make you poor. It is easier to drive the mind of a rich person away from God.
“According to statistics, the most religious countries are the poorer countries. That is why I laugh when I see people praying against the spirit of poverty. There is no spirit of poverty, stop wasting your prayers.
“Even the Bible said, blessed are the poor for they shall inherit the Kingdom of God. Poor people are closer to God than rich people. Poverty is not in devil’s agenda.
“If you are rich, he will use your money to lead you to eternal condemnation. The same thing goes to poor people. Know the purpose of your money, marriage and career? If you don’t know it, you will be misused by the devil”.
