While preaching to the congregation, the Leader of Power City International Church, Pastor Abel Damina, said we should not tell sinners to give their life to Christ.
The reason, according to him, is that sinners don’t have life to give to Jesus because they are already dead in sin. A dead man does not have life to give. Furthermore, Jesus came to give us life, not the other way round. So, a sinner is expected to invite Christ into his heart, not to give his life to Him.
“Don’t ask sinners to give their life to Christ because a sinner is dead in sin. A dead man has no life to give. That is why Jesus said, ‘I am come that you may have life. So, a sinner does not give his life to Christ, rather a sinner invites Christ into his heart”, he said.
