That Was Her Own Cup Of Suffering — Pastor Newman Reacts To The Death Of Ekwueme Singer

The death of Osinachi Nwachukwu, a has raised a lot of questions about marriages especially when it comes to domestic violence and abuse. According to reports, there are allegations that popular singer was maltreated by her husband, leading to her death on Friday.

Meanwhile, a popular Nigerian pastor, marriage and relationship coach known as Pastor Newman had in reaction to the death of Mrs Osinachi, hinted that it was her own cup of suffering. According to him, despite the various criticisms surrounding her death, the Nigerian singer had to carry her own cup otherwise, she will not receive ‘the well done reward’. The Pastor even cited 2 Timothy 3:12, while saying thus:

“She suffered and died in the Lord. Away from the criticisms surrounding her death, whether she should have left the marriage or not, we don’t know what God told her… Whether God asked her to remain in the marriage or not will only be revealed in eternity…. Someone would say “God cannot say that”, Really? Well done Jehovah’s classmate.

Brethren, that was her own cup of suffering… For everyone has his own portion of suffering for the sake of Christ! If you dodge your own cup of suffering, you may not receive the well done reward”.

However, Pastor Newman after several hours decided to take down the post from his Facebook handle. While giving his reason in another post, he said that he wouldn’t want to be taken as one who supports domestic violence.

Osinachi Nwachukwu before her untimely death, shot into limelight after she released. ‘Ekwueme’ some years ago. She was also the lead singer at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre.
