The Challenges In Nigeria Did Not Begin Today – How Pastor Kumuyi Has Been Calling For Prayers Over Nigeria Since 1986

The challenges in Nigeria did not begin today, some of the problems we currently face has been there several years ago.

Our religious clerics have also been praying for the progress of the country for decades, yet the situation keeps getting worse.

Below is a news on Guardian Newspaper way back in 1986, where pastor Kumuyi, the leader of Deeper Christian life ministry, called for special prayers over Nigeria.

He urged citizens to pray for the unity and survival of the country, claiming that it was only prayers that could save the nation from collapse, Adding that the unity and co-operations of all ethnic group within the country will bring progress.

It’s 2021, However, the religious cleric has still not backed down on his prayers for Nigeria, as he has recently called for another ceaseless prayer to curb the Insecurity challenges in the country.

He urged citizens not to give up on the country but should believe that things will get better.

The religious cleric should be appreciated, for continuosly playing his part to see to the growth of the country.

However, we still need to be worried also because, Despite the several prayers calls, the country has remained the same if not worse.

The state of the economy in 1986 may actually be way better than it is now, as we are faced with a much higher cost of living, as well as security challenges.

It takes the grace of God to travel Inter-state this days, without encountering Fulani bandits, or Kidnappers.

Though we must keep praying for our country, I still think we should learn that prayers don’t work if efforts are not made to solve the situation.

We have been praying since 1986, that’s over 35 years ago, and the situation isn’t getting any better, isn’t it better we focused more on work this time instead. If we keep praying without putting in any work to better the country, the situation may only worsen even further.
