The Church Building that looks like a Giant Shoe Is an Architectural Marvel

No matter the number of impressive buildings we have these days, there are still some which are weird and different, such as a church which was constructed to look like a giant shoe.

Yes, you read that right, in Taiwan, there is a church which is built like Cinderella glass shoe. This building is located at Ocean View Park in a Town called Budai.

This beautiful building is about 55ft tall and 36ft wide and was made with over 300 pieces of blue-tinted glass and it cost a whopping sum of about $686,000/£477,000 to erect.

Even though this building is called a church it is not an official place of worship for Christians, for it is only used for weddings and as a tourist centre.

You may think why a shoe? Well the shoe design was inspired by a local story about a girl in the 1960s, who had the Blackfoot disease and both of her legs had to be amputated, which led to her wedding being cancelled, and she stayed unmarried and lived in the church the rest of her life, thus using the high heel to honour her memory.

The construction of the building was completed way back in 2016 and later that same year the building received certification by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest high-heel shoe-shaped structure

The building is more focused on ladies and it has many girl-oriented features in the church such as the likes of ; chairs for lovers, maple leaves, biscuits and cakes. The entire building is tailored towards women and it attracts a lot of female tourists who comes visiting.
