Apostle Michael Orokpo is the instructor at the Cave Adullam Bible College. In his recent sermon, he shared a story on what transpired on the first day he raised a dead child.
He shared this inspiring story with the congregation to show that if you don’t have the Word as your foundation, you will encounter disappointments. This is because God is committed to His Word and not to anybody.
According to Apostle Michael Orokpo, he heard many stories on how Smith Wigglesworth rose many dead people. Fortunately, he was invited to a place where a child died. When he arrived at the scene, many people were crying, and he told them not to cry because he was the help they were looking for. He never knew the task ahead of him that very day.
When everyone must have left the room where the dead child was, the Apostle worshiped God before screaming the child’s name, commanding her to wake up. By the time he screamed the girls name 4 times and the child didn’t wake up as he commanded, it was then he remembered that there is something Smith Wigglesworth knew that he (Apostle Michael) never knew.
“It was when I left that place I discovered that Smith Wigglesworth reads one verse of the Bible in every 45 minutes all his life. I also read about E. W. Kenyon and found out that in every room in his house, there was always a Bible that will be open. He reads it before he enters the room. Not excluding his toilet, kitchen, bathroom, etc.
“How can dead a body be around such persons, never. But look at me, I went to raise a dead person without a Word in me. I was just excited about their stories, but I never knew what those men did to get there”, Apostle Michael said.
He went further to said that they prayed for 4 hours, nothing happened. It was at this point he started looking for words to console the parents for their dead child. While looking for consolation words for the parents, he said “God help us, have mercy on us”. After 15 minutes, the dead child woke up.
