Isaiah 11:1-2

Last week we looked at ten Dimensions of the Spirit; the Spirit of Lordship, Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding, Counsel, Might, Fear of the Lord, Excellence, Faith, Love.

We are looking at one tree that has many branches, that is how the Spirit of God is. We will look at five today.

11. The Spirit of Faithfulness; Proverbs 11: 13.

If this is the only thing we look at today, then it is enough.

One of the assignments of God is to help the saints maintain a spirit that is faithful. Beloved I am sure you are aware that one of the scarcest commodities on earth today is faithful people. Reliable people, faithful friends, faithful business partners, faithful sons, faithful daughters, faithful spouses.

One of the scarcest commodities on earth today is faithful people, reliable people, people who will not back stab, people who will not betray trust, they are scarce. Psalm 12:1. And as we reach the end of the world, the shortage of faithful people will be high. 2nd Timothy 3:1-4, Acts 14:8-19.

In verse 8 of Acts, same people who said that Paul was a god turned around in verse 19 to stone him to kill him. That is the typical nature of man because the same people who hail you today can nail you tomorrow.

When we are surprised at the behaviour of man, it is because we don’t know the nature of man.

• Be a faithful person because there is reward in faithfulness. Make up your mind to be a faithful person. Proverbs 28:20. I understand what faithfulness, loyalty and honesty means to God and man. I cannot remember when something entered my hand in the last 34 years and what belongs to God didn’t go to Him by mistake. I don’t remember what will take me out of town on a service day especially Sunday morning, maybe duty, I don’t know the kind of duty, maybe official duty.

I have followed one pastor over my head that God revealed to me for close to 25 years. I have even attended their convention, it is called Shiloh, unbroken for 21 years, not one year missed, from beginning to the end, most of them. My father has married out four children, the last was yesterday. I have not been absent from one.

People that you can count on are scarce. There are people you say please help me hold this glass for me, you want the glass to break. There are people you say please help me watch this field, that means you want the field to be overrun.

If you want to go far with God in this life, be a faithful person.

• Don’t be overly shocked at the unfaithfulness and betrayal of humanity, it is the normal human nature outside the influence of the Holy Spirit.
• Be careful with your association because association affects faithfulness, it affects consistency.
  These people in Acts 14:19 were influenced by people who came and talked them out of their conviction and the man of God they were praising, they stoned him.

You must come to the point where you know what you believe and are persuaded about what you believe so that people headed for destruction will not take you along with them. 2 Timothy 1:12.

If I don’t know what I know, I won’t be following my father in the Lord now. There are people who hate him and because they hate him, they join me in the hatred. But that is their cup of tea. God knew how bad he was and anointed him, if he is bad, and saw how perfect you are and ignored you.

Please watch your association. God has helped us as an individual and as a family to where we are and where we are still going because of a careful selection of who can speak into our lives.

How Does the Holy Spirit Function in the Regard of Faithfulness?

• The empowerment of the quality of reliability, trustworthiness and dependability like our Maker.

He is turning us into the image of our Maker and Jehovah is reliable. 2 Corinthians 3:18. The Character of God is the Character of dependability, reliability and trustworthiness.

12. The Spirit of Meekness. You can also call it a humble or contrite Spirit. Proverbs 16:19, Isaiah 57:15, Psalm 34:18, Galatians 6:1.

Nobody can be full of the Holy Ghost and be filled with pride. They are mutually exclusive, diametrically opposed. You can’t be full of the Holy Ghost and be filled with pride at the same time. One of the plagues of our generation is the plague of pride. People are proud with nothing in their pockets.

One day I called one young man and said, I can see you are very very proud, okay, over what? No money, no certificate, nothing. Shoulders with wings like it wants to fly. That is why the number of people who are connected to virtue and unction is very very few because it takes humility to connect authority.

I knew in our school days people who looked down on their class mates. I mean the same medical school class and you saw a girl who is also your class mate and you are thinking of getting married to her or something like that, there were one or two cases like that were it was ‘You? Class mate?’

1981, how many years ago, 39 years ago in fellowship, one brother, I think he was a graduate, said he wants to marry a sister. Instead of you to say okay let me go and pray about it or what is the Lord saying about it and she said

‘You, me? I have a Masters degree’.

It fenced off the brother on the spot, on the wings of arrogance. This is 39 years, the girl is married to her Masters, no husband till date. You have Masters, marry masters now.

I am not talking about an extreme situation where there are extreme disparities where there is no understanding between the two, I am not talking about that. Even if you don’t think so, there is a way to talk about it, it is not the Masters you should mention

‘Oh, okay, can you give me time to think about it or pray about it?’.

There is a plague of arrogance, a plague of pride. That was what destroyed Lucifer in the Book of Isaiah 14:12-15.

What Does the Holy Spirit help us do in the Regard of Meekness.

1. The impartation of the ability to remain stable and humble at heart despite lifting and helping by God. That is, you are a billionaire and nothing happens, you are heavily anointed but still regular. There are many God cannot lift because they are not stable. If He lifts them, they’ll crash.
2. The Spirit of Holiness. Romans 1:4, 2 Timothy 3:1-5.

How Does the Holy Spirit Help us in the terms of Holiness.

• By the sustenance of a tender living child-like conscience. A conscience that refuses to allow you to be comfortable with wrong. You may make mistakes, you may err, but you can’t remain comfortable, there is something inside that troubles you.

May the Holy Spirit bring your conscience back alive in Jesus Name.

14. The Spirit of Grace. Zechariah 12:10. The Spirit of God makes the Grace of God available as the Spirit of Grace. It is the release of the ease to please God in all our endeavours of life. Titus 2:12,
    1 Corinth 2:10.
15. The Spirit of Supplication. The fueling of perpetual passion for prayer. That is the Spirit of intercession, the Spirit of prayer. If you need a buoyant, vibrant life of prayer, it is the Spirit of God you are looking for. Ephesians 6:18.

There is so much the Holy Spirit has to offer, we must refuse to be satisfied with just speaking in tongues. Speaking in tongues is the entry point, we must refuse to be satisfied with just the first level. We must determine to go all the way with God.

Continue to make demands on specific dimensions of life where you desire the assignment or the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Example you need more of the Spirit of excellence, faithfulness or revelation in your life.
