Bishop David Oyedepo is one of Nigerian Preachers and the founder of Faith Tabernacle and Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winner’s Chapel International in Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria. He is also the Chancellor of Covenant University and Landmark university.
He was asked by a member of the church who read from the gospel according to saint Mark 10:23-25. “And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”
The Bishop emphatically answered that Jesus did not say that it is impossible, and that would have been different, that some people believe when you are poor and live in abject poverty means you are on your way to heaven.
And when you are poor you will feel frustrated in life, if care is not taken, you will tell a lie to cover up sins in order to escape punishment, and because you are poor, you will be angry all the time, and the Bible says ” make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go.”
He states emphatically that any true child of God can prosper anywhere he/she is, no matter the harsh economy condition of the nation, that prosperity depends on the choice that people make, so anyone can make a choice whether to be rich or to remain in poverty, but i want you to be rich, also God.
