In the book of Genesis we are told that God is the creator of everything. Without him nothing was created and even the devil himself in his wickedness was created by God himself.
Before man was created, Satan was already in the world and we are even told that he came as a serpent and made the first man and woman to sin against God. The enmity between God and Satan has existed but of course we know what led to that.
The book of Isaiah gives us insight on what exactly happened in heaven when lucipher was there. Lucipher wanted to raise a throne higher that that of God and make himself like God. That is found in the book of Isaiah 14:13-14.
The Punishment given to him is found in the next verse which is in Isaiah 14:15 which says, you we brought down to to grave to the depths of the pit.
Some people have asked the question whether there is a possibility for God to show mercy to the devil because one of his attributes is that He Is the God of mercy. Is it possible for the devil to be Forgiven by God.
Is it possible for the relationship between God and Satan to be restored? There are a lot of things one has to consider when trying to answer this question. This is a very controversial question but have you ever thought about it. The apostles of the old tried to answer this question and we are trying to look at the nest answer for this question.
We have to understand first of all that when Satan rebelled against God he was in heaven and this means he rebelled from heaven a place where many believers desire to go.
His punishment was banishment from heaven God did not however fight the devil himself, God simply let Angel Michael to fight him. Angel Michael is also called the Angel of war and anytime the devil tries to fight a person, he is the one who does the fighting. God is too powerful to even waste his time to fight Satan.
Satan was one of the most powerful archangel in heaven and was in charge of worship in heaven but he was overcome with pride and God decided to banish him from heaven.
So can God forgive Satan? Apostle Paul one of the greatest teachers of his times is believed to be the author of the book of Hebrews and in his writing he addressed this matter. The book of Hebrews 6:1-8 also gives us some special insight into this subject matter.
According to these book, “It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit who have tasted in the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall, away to be brought back to repentance, because of their loss, they have crucified Christ all over again and subjected him to public disgrace”
Satan was in heaven and that is the place where every believer desires to go. Being an archangel meant he even saw God but yet managed to sin. That is actually what is treated as treason in our worldly language.
Since Satan was the partaker of the heavenly gift and so such a person cannot be brought back to repentance since he has been in heaven and partaken of the glory of God but still managed to go against that. It is impossible for him to even be brought to repentance because God has sealed his fate and there is no way he can be forgiven.
Knowing the truth but still going against it invokes a higher degree of punishment unlike when you don’t know the truth.
Another important thing you should also know is that the devil cannot and will never ask for forgiveness because he is doomed to die in hell eternally. When Jesus came here on earth, he made sure he has given human being authority over Satan and his agents.
