Popular actor, philanthropist, comedian and entrepreneur, Williams Uchemba, recently took to his social media handle to state that the entertainment industry in Nigeria is the only thing that is saving Nigeria’s face globally at the moment.
He made this known while speaking on the need for people to support their own. However, his statements indirectly made reference to the recent opposition that Davido allegedly faced after he featured and worked on the official FIFA world cup Qatar 2022 song.
Williams Uchemba addressed the issue as he spoke in defense of Davido, who happens to be one of the most successful top Nigerian artistes. Williams Uchemba wrote:
“Maybe when we start realizing that a win for one is a win for all of us. Let’s not also forget that the only thing currently saving Nigeria’s face globally is our entertainment industry. Whenever I see any Nigerian artiste on the global platform, the only thing I see is Nigeria proving to the world that we are more than what they think of us…”
