Bishop David Oyedepo has revealed why people take God’s word for granted. During his sermon at the Covenant Hour of Prayer meeting, he explained that people take God’s word for granted because God does not force anybody to obey him.
He narrated the parable Jesus told the Pharisees about the man who had two sons. He told the first one to work in his vineyard, and he said he wouldn’t go. Later, this one changed his mind and went. He told the second one, and he agreed to go, but later did not go. The Bishop said the father knew which son would go and which would not go, but he did not force anyone to obey him.
He quoted Revelations 3:20, where Jesus said he was standing at the door of our hearts knocking, and if anyone opened for him he would enter and eat with the person. Jesus would not barge in, or force himself to enter; he would wait to see if you would obey his promptings.
