While preaching to the congregation, the General Overseer and founder of Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo, revealed that he told Jesus healing his wife does not make Him God. He said he made the statement when his wife’s health was attacked.
Speaking further, he said he assured Jesus that He would be his God whether He heals her or not. “Am I a wicked man?”, he asked, saying that he is just addicted to Christ and that his wife was later healed.
He advised the congregation to go after God for Love, not material things because anyone who goes after Him for “butter and bread” will be disappointed.
“I told Jesus during the attack on my wife’s health, ‘healing her is not what makes you God. Whether you heal her or not, you are my God. Am I a wicked man? No! I am just a love addict of Jesus. Did He heal her or not? He did. If you are going after God for bread, you are sure to be disappointed. If you are going after God for your love for Him, you are sure to be celebrated. Bread and butter are never enough”, he said.
