Pastor Mildred Okonkwo, the wife of Kingsley Okonkwo spoke to her members on ‘Kingdom Marriage.’
While talking about how we can build Kingdom marriage using the Word, she said that Jesus said that marriage is not for everyone, not everyone will get married but if you are called to it and you are gifted to it, He expects you to do it right. She then read the book of Matthew 19: 11 which says:
But Jesus said, “Not everyone is mature enough to live a married life. It requires a certain aptitude and grace. (Mercy Translation).
According to her, marriage requires maturity. It is not going to be based on how you feel, you will not always feel like loving your spouse. You will not always feel like being kind and patient, it requires maturity. You will not always feel like saying the right thing at the right time but it still requires maturity.
Finally, she said that she’s not always in the mood to be a blessing to her husband and she doesn’t love him all the time. She said that he can be annoying at times and she can also be annoying sometimes. But maturity means that she doesn’t act on what how she feels but on what the word of God says.
