While teaching about succession, the Presiding Bishop of Answers Assembly, Warri, Delta State, Bishop Irabor Wisdom, claimed that the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye was not born again when the Church was founded.
Speaking further, he said Pastor Adeboye was not even am a member of the church and he didn’t know that he would be the next General Overseer at that time. He added that people that will take over the leadership of some churches from the founders have not been born. Those who have been born may not be born again or members of the church.
As a result, he prayed that God should not let the church they pastor die off in the care of their successors.
“Daddy Adeboye was not even born again as at the time the church he will later head was born. The Church was in operation but the new General overseer was not a member of the church and not even a Christian at that time. When it comes to SUCCESSION, pray not to operate in the flesh or your wisdom.
“Some of the churches we are pastoring today, the new General overseer that will take over from the founders of those churches may not have been born into this world. Those already born may not even be born again. Those born again, may not even be your member but destiny will bring them your way.
“Do you think the founder of REDEEM doesn’t have a wife, children or relations to hand over to? Before you argue with me, remember Daddy Adeboye is 80 years old and REDEEM is 70 years old. As at when he was 10 years where was he and what was he doing? Oh Lord, may the church we Pastor not die after our transition to glory”, he wrote.
