There are several Nigerian yoruba gospel musicians but this is a list of notable Nigerian male yoruba gospel musicians that has been doing amazingly well.

Bidemi Olaoba has recently become a sought after Gospel Artiste in Nigeria. He is definitely one Gospel artiste to look out for. He is a Young and vibrant minister of the gospel with energetic great grace and power.

(9) DARE JUSTIFIED

Oluwadamilare Samuel Ogunderin popularly known as Dare Justified, is one of the fast-rising gospel ministers taking his trade to every part of the world. He has performed in a lot of concerts. In a recent interview he talked about how he started his misic career as a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) member and also claimed he loves to worship mostly in his dialect which is Yoruba. He said “I derive more strength when I worship God in my dialect (Yoruba). It means a lot to me and I think I connect more with God ministering in Yoruba language. It is deep and also carries a lot of power. I can communicate in it more, though I sing in English language too.

(8) LAOLU GBENJO

Laolu Gbenjo is a vibrant and talented gospel Artiste, he started his Musical career professionally in 2008, with his first album
titled Next Level and the second; Take Over which was launched in 2014. He is one of the Yoruba male gospel musician to be reckoned with when it comes to Yoruba Praise medley’s.

(7) MIKE ABDUL

Mike Abdul, Spaghetti Records Boss, is another Nigerian male Yoruba Gospel Artiste who revolutionalised Yoruba Gospel music with the release of ‘Morire’ (A fusion of fuji and Dancehall beat) that totally changed the face of Yoruba Gospel Music.
Mike Abdul been a member of superb and famous ‘Mid-Night Crew’, gave Him the platform to have a good Litmus Test with Midnight Crew’s “This Fuji Thing”. The acceptance of the track by the population gave Mike the opportunity to serve the teeming audience with a fuji fusion meal.

(6) JOSEPH ADELAKUN

Joseph Adelakun Popularly known as Baba Ayewa, who was born into a Muslim family , He is a Pastor, Songwriter and televangelist.

The charismatic evangelist began his musical career as a member of the Christ Apostolic Church choir in 1976. His debut
album titled Emi yio kokiki Re was released in 1978 and in 1982, he retired from the Nigerian Army to focus on gospel music, the same year he established a musical group called “Ayewa Gospel Music Ministry”. His was famous for his 9th album titled Amona tete maa bo, released in 1984. He had released over 30 musical album over the years as a Nigerian
gospel singer. He was honoured with the “Evergreen Award” at the Crystal Awards in 2014.

(5) OJO ADE

Ojo Ade (born October 10, 1959) is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter and evangelist. He began his music career in 1977 when he Joined a church choir but established his personal musical group in 1979. In 1981, two years after he established his musical group, he released his debut album titled Jesu To
Funmi and later released Satani Ko Sinmi. He is one of the gospel singers who had made a significant contributions to gospel music in Nigeria.

(4) DARE MELODY

The notable gospel act, Dare Melody is another Yoruba male gospel artiste to be reckoned with when it comes to Yoruba Gospel Music. He came into the limelight in the year 2004 and he has been doing well till date.

(3) LANRE TERIBA

The indigenous gospel musician, Lanre Teriba entered stardom in 2000 with his debut album Atorise (Reformer). He spent most of his childhood in the church where he discovered his vocal gift. Teriba decided to use his gift thus he began composing while struggling to raise money for a demo. His consistency has created a lot of Platforms and fame for him till today.

(2) MEGA 9’9

Abel Oluwafemi Dosunmu, known as Mega 99, is a Nigerian gospel juju musician and songwriter.

The energetic artist, in 1994, established a musical group called Abel Dosunmu and the Mega 9’9 Band. His debut album titled My mother was released in 1998 and another album titled Prayer was released in 2000 but was famous for his album titled Money which was released in 2004. He has been an inspiration to so many upcoming Yoruba gospel artists.

The first on our list is Yinka Ayefele. Despite his disability, Ayefele has been an inspiration to many established and upcoming yoruba and non yoruba praise singers.

The former journalist and broadcaster has many albums to his name and as well performed locally and internationally countless times.
