Tribute by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria at Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke’s Home-going Service at Orlando, USA

Reinhard Bonnke, a true son of Africa, a life on fire. I stand here today, as a representative of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria. I stand representing the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, the person of Reverend Dr Felix Omobude; he is the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria(PFN), the umbrella body for over 30 million Pentecostals in Nigeria, many of whom, if they had their way would have loved to be here today.

On the behalf of my president, who brought forward the exigencies of pressing Kingdom services, would have wanted to be here in person.

I stand as the representative of the Church in Nigeria, with a heavy heart but with gratitude to God for the life of the servant of God and our brother Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke. For us in Africa especially in Nigeria, Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke was our brother in the deepest and truest sense of the word brother. He was our brother. I doubt that Africa has ever had a more devoted friend, than our Brother Reinhard Bonnke. Church Gist.

Pastor Adeboye revealed the mistake that made him great

He might have been born in Germany, schooled in Wales, eventually settled in America but it was in Africa he fulfilled his purpose. It was in Africa, his mission on Earth was realised. Without doubt, he was born for the sake of Africa. He was sent to the continent on a mission to evangelize by fire. Church Gist From an early age, Reinhard Bonnke already had a clear idea of his mission as he told everyone he will be a missionary in Africa. For more than 20 years, the evangelist carried a divine promise in his heart that one day, one million souls (will be on) fire. His was a burning passion that spoke to the urgency of now. He warned us against slacking. “Evangelism, he says is an Emergency Operation: we have only as long as we live to reach those who live as long as we live. We have only one generation to save a generation and every generation needs regeneration.”Church Gist.

Our brother might have gone home, but his life challenges us, his works challenge us and his words speak to us. Let us take on what he has taught us, as he said “carriers of the gospel, change from generation to generation but the gospel remains the same.”Church Gist
Now we are here and today, is our turn. We must rise on our feet, we must embrace the challenge. The harvest is plentiful and the workers are few but there’s so much that even the few can do as we have seen with Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke.

For us in Africa, especially in Nigeria, we celebrate Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke. We celebrate his life. He gave his all to the church in Nigeria. He was a huge inspiration to us. His fire conference ministered to the ministers. His vision, selflessness, and uncommon committment to the gospel was unparalleled.
The church in Nigeria will always be grateful to him for what God used him to do in our country. The coming together of Pentecostal leaders in 1985 during the Lagos crusade by Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke was one of the propellers which led to the birth of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, with the offering from the crusade which was donated, serving as seed at the initial stage of the fellowship. In recognition of the massive Evangelical work in Nigeria, the PFN in 2017, during his farewell crusade in Nigeria, presented him with the PFN Life Achievement Award. He will be missed by millions of Nigerians and the entire membership of the PFN.
