Pastor Adeboye in his printed message today speaks on wealth and how to get rid of poverty. He started by using the holy Bible, the book of 2Corithians 8:9 “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes, he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich”.
The reputable clergyman stated that when God said let there be light, it simply means to let the darkness of poverty disappear so that pure wealth from God may appear, the type that does not bring sorrow along.
He added that ” God is a master strategist, Architect in charge of the universe. You are not in the world by accident, the earth was void but God fixed it before creating man. In the book of Deuteronomy 8:18, he told the children of Israel that he has given them the power to create wealth, Deut.8.18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
Therefore, we don’t need to go the worldly way to get wealth. Wealth is our trademark because of the assignment of evangelism he mandated us to carry out.
He also cleared out the notion that poverty is a Christian virtue. He said “Poverty is not a Christian virtue and should be hated with passion, poverty is direct opposition to a believer’s relationship with God. Psalm 50:10 “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills”.
