What does it mean that we are already saved and are also being saved?

When we say we have been rescued and are being saved, what does it mean?

The need for salvation arises because of sin. In light of the fact that we are delivered from different elements of sin, our salvation is a multi-staged event that spans the past, the present, and the future.

As a result of being justified, we are delivered from the condemnation that sin deserves. Clearly, this is something that happened in the past. Because of what Jesus did on the cross, anybody who puts their faith in Him for redemption is declared righteous in God’s sight. You should consider this a final sale. One who is righteous has been rescued:

Because of God’s mercy, you have been saved, not because of anything you’ve done, so that no one can take credit for your salvation (Ephesians 2:8–9).

That’s why we may rest easy with God thanks to Jesus Christ, who has made us righteous in his sight (Romans 5:1)

However, there are other issues than the punishment for sin. Christians continue to fight against the influence of sin. They are not flawless, even if their sins have been forgiven. On this world, people are being delivered from the dominion of sin (sanctified). Ephesians 1–3 are Paul’s lengthy explanation of how sinners who trust in Christ might be freed from its effects. After that, Jesus advises them to keep that truth at the forefront of their lives by rejecting sin’s power over them.

What was wrong with the Israelite's holy pillars (2 Kings 17:10)?

Thus, as a prisoner for the Lord, I implore you to act in a manner befitting the high vocation to which you have been called. Keep your ego in check and your tone mild; be patient and kind to one another in the name of love. Strive tirelessly to preserve the calm that comes from preserving the oneness of the Spirit (Ephesians 4:1–3).

Reckon yourself to be spiritually dead to sin and spiritually alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore, do not give sin such dominion over your frail body that you give in to its corrupt urgings. Instead, present yourself to God as people who have been resurrected from the dead, and present your whole selves to him as instruments of his righteousness. Because you’re not ruled by the law, but by grace, sin can no longer control your life (Romans 6:11–14).

This rule seems to be at work, since even when I try to do good, evil seems to be close by. For while I love the law of God with all my heart, I also see another law at work within me, which is at war with the law of my mind and has made me a prisoner of the law of sin. O, what a miserable human being I am! I need someone to save me from this mortal body. God, who saves me by means of Jesus Christ, the Lord. Scripture citing this idea: Romans 7:21-25.

Who ordained Moses to be a prophet in the bible?

So, even the apostle Paul acknowledges that he continues to fight sin. But as a believer grows in Christ, they will experience more success in their daily struggles with sin. To a large extent, Christians are being delivered from the dominion of sin.

Christians will be delivered from the power of sin in the future (glorified). Christians believe that they will be given a new body in the future, one in which the sin nature no longer exists. We anticipate a new dwelling place, a new heaven, and a new earth, in which sin no longer exists.

Because the old heaven and earth had ended, together with the ocean, I then saw a brand-new heavenly and terrestrial setting. The New Jerusalem, the Holy City, descended from heaven like a bride adorned for her husband. A resounding voice came from the throne, saying, “Look, the tabernacle of God is among the people, and he will live with them; and they will be his people, and God himself shall be with them and be their God. He will dry up all of their tears. For the old order of things has ended, and with it death, sadness, tears, and agony. Since the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the city’s temple, I did not find any temples inside its walls. The glory of God provides illumination, and the Lamb is its lamp; the city has no need of the sun or moon. The world’s countries will be illuminated by it, and the world’s monarchs will add their own regal magnificence to its glow. In a city where night does not exist, the gates never close. It will become a place where the pride and majesty of the world may be shown. Nothing unclean, nothing dishonorable, nothing dishonest, but only those whose names are recorded in the Lamb’s book of life will ever enter in (Revelation 21:1–4, 22–27).

The three facets of salvation are as follows:

• Historically: We no longer bear sin’s wrathful effects. We were right to believe this.
• Now: God is saving us from the power of sin. Right now, God is purifying us.
• In the long run, we’ll be protected from sin’s influence. When all is all said and done, we will be praised.
