Pastor David Oyedepo Jnr, the Resident Pastor at Faith Tabernacle, Living Faith Church Worldwide spoke at Midweek Service, Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland. He spoke about the power in the name of Jesus and said that anytime you are using the name, have a revelation of the fact that the unlimited power of Jesus is in the name. Have the understanding that the authority of Christ is in the name, it will change the level of results that you are seeing with the name.
He said,
“Years ago when I was in Bible school doing my LDC, A man came into the class and I could see that He was physically challenged and I had a witness, the Holy Spirit said to pray for this man. I looked at him, the case was serious so I said so because of his own kind of condition, if he is not healed it will show and both of us are in Bible School together. So I said well, he is hearing the word as I am hearing the word. Let him hear the word and be healed by himself.”
So one evening, he said that he went for service and as he was worshipping God at the beginning of the service, he saw the man from his peripheral view. He was coming towards him. Suddenly the man comes and sits beside him and by the time he opened his eye, he saw the man. As the service finished, they shared “The Grace” and were told to congratulate their neighbour. So he had to congratulate him. After that, as he was about to dive out, the Holy Spirit captured him again “I said pray for this man”. So he said, “Sir do you mind if I pray with you?”. He said, “why not, please”. He was hoping he would not say so.
He then said, “So I prayed “in the name of Jesus, Lord perfect your son, let him be made whole”. I took my Bible and I ran out. All through the rest of Bible school, I never saw him again. But as I was driving home the Holy Spirit said to me and I can never forget “What I want to deliver you from is the fear of performance”. I said what do you mean? ” He said, “Listen, when you pray in my name, it is not you that will perform, it is me that will perform”.
Finally, he said, “From that day, any shaking disappeared because I now discovered I am utilizing an authority, not mine. It is that revelation that expands your faith and causes you to deploy His power in the direction of any matter. So anything you are afraid of, it is your power you are looking at that is the reason. When you utilize the power of Jesus, you will see that no situation will not bow.
