I would have swiftly stated the reasons hundreds of people travel thousands of kilometers to the mountain of fire and miracles deliverance camp and end up getting back home without total deliverance, but it will be almost impossible to commence writing about that without a brief on the founder of this great ministry.
Daniel Kolawole Olukoya founded Mountain Of Fire and Miracles at a prayer meeting inside his sitting room in 1989.
The prayer group purchased a large slum beside the University of Lagos and converted it to the international headquarters of the mountain of fire and ministries. Their first service there was on April 24, 1994.
At the new location, worshipers and those seeking help kept coming, leading to a very large congregation. The situation posed a challenge of crowd, growth, and expansion, management to the leadership of the church, thus, MFM created a network of branches in every state capital, local government headquarters, senatorial district, and locality.
From a very humble beginning in his living room, MFM has grown in leaps and bounds to over 300 churches within Nigeria and outside Nigeria.
MFM owns a large expanse of land along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway called Prayer City, close to the international camp of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God.
It is a known fact that weekly, from Sunday night, hundreds of people, if not thousands rush to MFM’s prayer city along Lagos-Ibadan expressway for a 3 days deliverance program starting from Monday till Wednesday. During the program, no one is allowed to eat nor drink anything, till after the deliverance session, as it is called a battleground. Despite the rigorous session, some go back to their homes without a testimony, while others walk away in jubilation and excitement. Some of the people and things you must avoid at the prayer city include
1 . Hostel warders: These people mean well for everyone who walks in for deliverance, but by training, they are authoritative, hitherto, once it is time to leave the hostel for the battleground, they expect you to leave immediately without wasting time or arguing with them. Those guys are not interested in your tips or money or your personality. Trust me, exchanging words with them or fighting them is the principal reason why people walk away from the camp without a blessing and a testimony.
Picture it this way, you just finished fighting your brother, and you enter into prayer and supplication to God, do you think he will answer that prayer? All fingers are pointing at NO. God is not mocked.

There was a day I left the house to church in bitterness to my wife, Fiscocream Madam, as I and her mother fondly call her, as I drove out of the estate, the cover frame of my car whipped out in motion, broke on the expressway, I looked at the damage it caused me and it dawned on me that settlement with her would have spared me from unnecessary expenses.
At some point, I was not on talking terms with my older sister in the US for some reasons, the day we settled, I felt this inner peace within me and on that same day we settled, without asking her for anything, she sent my wife two pairs of shoes and sent me a pair of shoe and then offered me money for a project.
2 . Deceitful Deliverance: Do you know some people go to the prayer city, to toast rich women looking for a husband? Have you heard that some even sleep with their girlfriends during deliverance in a hotel at the camp? Do you know that some break their fast before the completion of the program by eating gala and drinking tea in the hostel at night?
3 . Focus: Some people don’t go to the camp for the specific reason they went for, they seldom forget their prayer point and get to the camp and the next thing you find them with is a close pal, chatting with them all day and night.
