What You Must Do To Fight Stress – Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo Reveals

These days, the world is moving so fast. Our messages are delivered super fast, we can travel from one destination to another kilometers away in few hours, and we can have good food in minutes, without even leaving the spot we are. In spite of all these modern conveniences, we see a lot of stressed people everywhere. Because of the speed of our lives, we have deadlines to beat, targets to meet, and information to keep up with. But all this stress is bad for our health, and it can lead to complications.

God does not want to have his children stressed. In fact, in Matthew 6:33-34, he commanded us not to worry about anything, but seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. Pastor Matthew revealed a way to fight stress as a christian, and it is with the word of God.

Did you know that the word of God is the only offensive weapon we have when we put on the whole armour of God? Every other weapon is for defense, but the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God, is the only weapon we can use to cause real damage. You can read Ephesians 6 to see for yourself.

With the word, you can fight stress. If you spend time meditating on the word of God, you will find yourself less stressed.

So how do you meditate on God’s word? It’s simple. The Hebrew word for meditation in Joshua 1:8, means “to mutter”. And if you consider it like that, the whole scripture will begin to make sense.

Joshua 1:8 says;

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

If God commanded us not to let his word depart from our mouths, then we must keep on speaking tbe word for it to remain in our mouths.

Whenever you feel stress about to come upon you, begin to speak the words of God that fight stress. When you do that, you will have your victory. Be blessed.
