WHAT YOU NEVER KNEW ABOUT CONFESSING THE SCRIPTURES
Some time ago, I thought of getting a journal to start writing down scriptures that resonates with me and God’s promise for me. As I kept studying my Bible, I got more scriptures and I kept recording them in my journal.
Every morning, I made it a routine to pick up my Bible and the journal then I go straight up confessing the word of God. This has been my life saver always and it has helped me to have my mind stayed on God.
There’s something confessing the scriptures does to you, it is highly transformational. It nurtures faith in your heart and configures you to begin to think like God.
Confessing the scriptures helps you grasp your identity in Christ and come to the understanding of the realities Christ has made available for you.
“Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new person. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new”.
2 Corinthians 5:17
“You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins”.
Confessing the scriptures dispels your fears. This especially works like magic. I’ve tried it so many times and it works. Whenever fear sets in my heart about anything whatsoever, I pick up my Bible and begin to confess the Word of God. As I do this, the peace of God is released in my heart and that settles it.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline”
2 Timothy 1:7
“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”
Confessing the scriptures shifts your focus from worry to trusting God more.
You see those things you have no control over, rather than worrying over them, sit with the word and keep confessing God’s promise to you. With this, you get to trust God to come through for you and wait on Him till there’s a manifestation of His promises. God cannot lie.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus”.
Confessing the scriptures helps you wield your power over the enemy and put him back in his place of defeat. You have the victory, ALWAYS.
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds”.
2 Corinthians 10:4
Today more than ever, make your Bible your friend. Use the Word of God to your advantage, it is your SWORD. See beyond the printed letters in it and see every word in it as your WEAPON.
Take hold of the Word of God, confess God’s promises to you in it. Confess your identity and keep confessing it.
Keep the word of God in your mouth always.
Speak what you want to see. Speak who you are in Christ.
