WHEN A PERSON’S APPOINTED TIME HAS COME, FOOD IS SOMEWHERE INVOLVED

I DON’T KNOW FOR SURE WHAT GOD WANTS TO DO, BUT I HAD A GREAT FEELING WITHIN ME WHEN GOD TOLD ME THE THEME FOR NOVEMBER IS ‘THE APPOINTED TIME’ AND DECEMBER – ‘THE SIEGE IS OVER’ THAT SOMETHING SERIOUS, SOMETHING GLORIOUS, SOMETHING BIG IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN TO SOME ONE

Exodus 12:40-42

• May I pray for someone that you will never forget tonight.

Food is very important, somebody said we eat in other to live. Food is very important to human beings, animals. As a matter of fact, there are two instincts that are uppermost in the mind of every animal: instinct of self preservation and instinct of procreation. Every animal wants to eat, they think of preserving themselves first. Then at a certain age, they begin to seek to create something that will live after them, that is when they begin to look for a mate.

When every animal wakes up in morning, the first thing they do is to look for food. When you watch Discovery Channel and you see a lion hunting to kill other animals, you pity the weaker animals but it gets to a certain stage when you understand that he must eat.

The one who made him, made him to eat flesh so he must eat. When you see two lions fighting if you check well, you will discover they are fighting over who has the right to a female lion. They are fighting for someone that will let them reproduce themselves. So food is important, we eat in order to live. That is why you find out that in every occasion that is significant, every celebration food is involved. You are getting married, you cook. Dedicating a new house, you cook, you become a chief, you cook.

When you go to the scripture you will find out that when a person’s appointed time has come, food is somewhere involved. I will just give you few examples. In Judges 6:1-24, when an angel visited Gideon to tell him “there is an appointed time for the problems of your nation to end and you are the one that has been chosen”. Gideon said to the angel, “don’t go, eat before you go”. In Judges 13:1-30 when an angel came to the wife of Manoah to say “God is about to send somebody who will be a deliverer of his people and you the woman, you are the one who will bring him into this world”. The woman and her husband said to the angel “Please don’t go until you have eaten”.

In 1 Kings 19:19-21 when Elijah came to Elisha and gave him a hint that the purpose for which he was created was not to live and die a farmer but to become a great prophet. Elisha said to Elijah “Sir I will go with you but let me prepare a feast first for my people. Let there be some eating before we go”. In John 21:1-19, after Peter had messed up and denied Jesus and all that, when Jesus was going to restore him and revive him and set him on his way to fulfilling his destiny it was after a meal.

In Acts 9:1-22 when Saul of Tarsus who himself said that God had separated him from his mother’s womb to be one that will proclaim Jesus Christ. When the time came for him to change from being an Anti-Christ to being an Apostle of Christ he ate before he can begin the assignment. In John 13:18-30, when Judas Iscariot was going to betray Jesus, Jesus told him after he had given him food that which you are about to do, do it quickly. What was he saying? Judas Iscariot your appointed time has come.

In the text that we read about the children of Israel, long before in Genesis 15:13-16, God told Abraham your children will be in a strange land for years. For they will serve them and those people will afflict them with great horrors but a day will come when they will come out with great treasures. 430 years passed and the appointed time for them came, they ate a meal and it was a night never to be forgotten. I don’t know for sure what God wants to do, but I had a great feeling within me that when God told me “November – Appointed Time, December – The Siege is over” I might be a baby Christian but I have been walking with God since 1973 and I have a feeling something serious, something glorious is about to happen in the life of at least two people, myself and someone else. Who is that someone else? so you must come to the Lord’s table tonight with a little bit of trembling because the appointed time has come. For someone for good, for Judas Iscariot for evil. Which side are you on? Are you on the Lord’s side or are you against Him? So if you have not given your life to Jesus, if you have been pretending all along, there is no more time to pretend again. It’s either you are for Him or you are against Him.

When the children left Egypt the Bible says there was not a single feeble one among them, they ate a meal and a whole nation was healed. When you take the bread tonight, don’t just pray for yourself alone, pray for your family, pray for your nation.

• May the Almighty God grant your request.
• May this night be a night you will never forget. May it be a night of healing, a night of deliverance, a night of power.
