WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM THAT YOU CAN’T EVEN TELL THE PASTOR ABOUT, THAT IS A SIEGE.

WHEN THERE IS A SIEGE, WE DON’T LOOK TO THE KING, GOVERNOR OR THE PRESIDENT FOR HELP. THE GREATEST HELP; THE ONE THAT IS SURE IS THE ONE THAT COMES FROM THE LORD.

Imagine that without doing anything wrong, somebody lied against you and they sent you to prison. And they say you are going to be imprisoned for life. But then somebody comes and say, “Hey! You go you are free”.
Whether the devil likes it or not, before this week will be over you will be free. Your enemy is not God. There is only one God and that is the Almighty. Let somebody shout Hallelujah!
The theme of this congress is “The siege is over”.

WHAT IS A SIEGE?
In the olden days, cities were surrounded by mighty city walls as a form of defense. And then there will be a mighty city gate. That city gate will have a very mighty strong door. So that when the enemy wants to attack, the city will have a watchman 24/7 who is watching. If he sees the enemy coming as an army, he will sound an alarm.

Everybody belonging to that city wherever they are will run into the city and then the gate will be shut so that the enemy will not be able to come in. it is a very good form of defense. The only problem is when the enemy arrives and discovers that you are all in and the gate is shut. He will say “No problem, we will wait for you outside”. And usually when the enemy comes like that, he will come with a lot of food. He will sit down there and say, “We will wait”. Now those who are in cannot come so they begin to consume whatever is inside until there is hardly anything.
And then they may have to make up their minds as to whether they should starve to death or open the gate and become slaves. That’s the idea of a siege.

2 Kings 6: 24-27
Because the enemies are out there surrounding the city, there will no more be movement for those who are inside. If they dare go out of the place, they will be kidnapped. They may be afraid even in their bedrooms because they may not know that while they were sleeping the enemy has broken through.
There will not be a freedom of travelling and it will be dangerous to leave your home; fear inside, fear outside, no food to eat. This sounds familiar because of the times we know we are in and now you know why God chose this topic for us.

When your city is besieged, the only way you can be free is to get help from outside. Unless help comes from the outside, the people in the city are finished.
In the story at 2 Kings 6: 24-27, things were so bad that mothers began to eat their children. That is when they cried and said “we need help”. Without any doubt, there is somebody here who needs help.

The greatest help; the one that is sure is the one that comes from the Lord.
When a city is under a siege, it affects everybody; even the king. When there is a siege, we don’t look to the king for help. We don’t contact the President. We don’t contact the governor.There is only one person to call on and that is God.

Fortunately for us, this King of Kings and Lord of Lords is willing to help somebody listening to me tonight. Now the question is. How do I contact Him: the only one who can help me? Many a times, when people are under siege, they may not be able to say it out.

A lady came to me and said Pastor pray for me. I asked, “What was the problem?” She said, Pastor I can’t tell you. When the problem is solved, I will come and testify. When you have a problem that you can’t even tell the Pastor about, that’s a siege. Well I prayed for her and she came to testify. At the age of 23, she was bedwetting. She said, “Whenever my colleagues want to go out for a program and they invite me, I will ask them, “Are we spending the night there?” If they said “yes”, then I am not going because if I go my secret will out by the next day”.

Let us assume, you find yourself at the gate of the King of Kings who can get rid of your siege. As we will discover in the days coming, the devil will be laying a siege on the bodies, resources and even prayers of people. If you find yourself at the palace of the King of Kings, the only way that gate will be opened to you is by thanksgiving. That is what David said.
