There is a popular adage that says, ‘Proper preparation prevents poor performance,’ so it is very important that we are prepared for everything we want to do in life. However, Rev. Uma Ukpai spoke to his members about why they need to be prepared if they want God to use them.

According to NDEPO TV, he said that anyone that wants to be used by God mightily must prepare for the service of God upon his life. He said that he has a library worth thirty-five million, five hundred thousand naira and he compels himself to study. He also makes himself his own headmaster and any day he is to study and pray, no visitor is allowed to see him. “My wife won’t let anybody disrupt my study time and prayer time,” he said.

Speaking further, he said that preparing to serve God and be an instrument of God shows a great mark of respect. God does not use an unprepared person. God uses only the prepared and every prepared person must create time and space. “Let your family members know you are preparing to serve the almighty God,” he said.

He said that for many years he used to study six hours a day, even when he went to school in the US. He was the first speaker at the Ahmadu Bello University in 1972 and was the first speaker at the University of Nigeria Nsukka. He then said that he was preaching at the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 1973, and a white man heard him preach, sat in the audience, and waited for the service to end. He said to him, ‘you sound like one of my students. You must be my student’.
