Humility is a principal virtue that should be seen in those who follow Jesus Christ, because in Matthew 11:29, Jesus Christ admonishes us to learn gentility and humility from Him, and that when we do this, we will find rest for our souls. God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). This is why Pastor Faith Oyedepo said that you cannot access grace except you are humble.
Jesus Christ is the best example of someone who humbly followed God’s plan for His life, and as a result, God highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, on earth, and under the earth (Philippians 2:8-11). Thus, there are blessings for those who live in godly humility, and you will miss out on these blessings, if you refuse to let go of pride and follow His purpose in your life.
According to Philippians 2:3, we should do nothing through selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility, let each esteem others better than Himself. When you humble yourself before God and admit your total dependence on Him, He will bestow His grace on you and honour you.
