Sharing your testimony can help you heal while also bringing Christians closer together. Testimony comes from the Latin word testis, which means “witness.” Giving testimonies, on the other hand, aids our recovery and that of others. Your testimony carries weight. However, Apostle Joshua Selman addressed his congregation in the Video on a crucial concept. During his sermon, he stated that he has many testimonies to tell, but that there are two reasons why he does not give testimonies during sermons:

1. People are not prepared to listen

There is no reason to relate your testimonies to persons who are unwilling to listen to them. Testimonies are meant to educate and motivate individuals. It allows people to realize what God is capable of and to have more faith in His ability.
