Why I Was Summoned By The Body of The Fathers of Faith In Nigeria – Pastor Abel Damina

The Nigerian Televangelist and General Overseer of The Power City International Ministry, Dr. Abel Damina has revealed why he was invited to the council of the fathers of faith in Nigeria.

According to Dr. Abel Damina, there is a forum which consisted of only big and popular Nigerian pastors, and you can’t join unless you’re invited. “In Nigeria, we have a forum where all fathers gathered and I’m a member and that forum you can’t join until you are invited. There are just about one hundred and twenty of us, in the whole of Nigeria. I’m a member of that forum. When I started preaching the message of Christ, I was invited by the fathers. Whoever you know is a father in the forefront, in the Nigeria ministry, they are all there and I’m among them,” Dr. Damina said.

He said he was summoned by the council of the fathers of faith when his messages began to go viral. “So, when I started preaching the message of Christ and it was going all over Nigeria, they became agitated and they summoned me. They wrote me a letter that I should come and explain the kind of message I’m preaching. So, I prayed and prepared a four hundred and forty page defense of what I preached. The coordinator of the forum is very close to me, because he too preaches the grace message. If you know Bishop Mike Okonkwo, he’s close to me,” Dr. Damina

He said after he presented his defense, Bishop Mike Okonkwo told him to summarized it and he prepared a summary of forty pages. “So, I compressed it to an executive summary to about forty pages and then we came that night, and everybody was seated. I stood up in front of them, from Pastor Adeboye down, they were all there. So, I began with the principle of Bible interpretation and I went into the concept of grace, from Genesis to the Epistles. When I finished, I said, this is what I go around the world preaching,” Dr. Damina.

He said after his defense, one of the fathers of faith asked him a controversial question. “So, one of the fathers stood up and asked me, supposed a man is committing fornication and he’s born again and the trumpet sound, will he go to heaven? So, I stood up and said, in Bible teaching there are no yes or no, there is only explanation. So, let’s go through the scriptures. When I finished, I said, that’s the position of the scripture, I rest my case and the man said, he need a yes or no. So, Bishop Mike stood up and say, let me answer you. If a man is truly born again, has the Holy Spirit and get into fornication mistakenly and the the trumpet sound, he will be in heaven but a man that is born again won’t go around committing fornication,” Dr. Damina.

According to him, one of the fathers of faith said he deserved a PhD in Christian Doctrine for his presentation and defense. “One of the fathers said, if he had the power he would have given me a PhD for my presentation. Then I said, there is nothing false in my message and we go for dinner. They wrote the minute and I have the copies of it. Also, In the Nigeria Church, if they see that you have influence, crowd, national acceptance, they will regard you as a father, but real fatherhood is doctrine not popularity,” Dr. Damina said.
