Why I Will Never Call Myself A Black Man – David Ibiyeomie

Pastor David Ibiyeomie, the founder and senior pastor of Salvation Ministries International spoke to his members at Salvation Ministries Home of Success. According to Church Gist, he spoke on ‘Identifying with Jesus Christ For Faith Filled Lifestyle.’

He revealed that many people have an identity crisis, because of what they hear, what they see, and what they believe. When you understand your root, bearing fruits will not be a problem. He said that because of our kinds of teachings, even our children have been revolutionised in their mental system.

Speaking further, he said that a son from their Commission went to a school in the United States and they said they have a special black history day and they wanted him to come for the black history day. So, he asked them if there is a white history day, the white ones told him, “you have to go and know your black slavery root.” he said he is not a slave and questioned why there was no White history day.

So, the lecturer looked at him twice and wondered why he was thinking like that. Because his perspective is different, he said “we should not have a black history day, we should also have a white history day. Because if the black has history, white should also have a history day.” Do you know that till today, some people see themselves as black? The man of God then revealed that he is not a black man and he will never be a black man because there is nobody like a black book. “I am not a black man, there is nobody like a black book for goodness’ sake and there is no white man, have you seen anybody who looks like a white handkerchief,” he said.

According to him, a handkerchief is white in colour and they were taught that it is white, unless what they taught them is not correct. So there Is no mortal man with the colour of a white handkerchief. Therefore, there is nothing like a black or a white man. It’s a misplacement of English language from those who taught us English. There is no black history day and anyone who believes that does not know his roots. Any day they tell you that you’re a black man and you accept then you don’t know your root. “I am not a black man, I will never be a black man, maybe you’re asking what kind of man am I? I am a man,” he said. There is no black and white, we are all men and women.
