Why Jesus Hid Himself When The Pharisees Came To Stone Him – Pastor W.F Kumuyi reveals what believers must learn from it

Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry spoke on “Overcoming Traditions That Hinder Gospel Penetration” in a recent Leadership Development Service. In one of his sub-topics, he talked about “Christ’s withdrawal from the conspiracy of Pharisaism” and discussed Christ’s experience with the Pharisees in Matthew 12.

He said that there are times you need to withdraw your focus and your understanding from a particular situation. There are people that have an idea of standing in a particular place of conspiracy. According to the Cleric, Christ came to destroy the works of the devil and there is still much time to keep on terminating and destroying the works of the devil. He had a longer distance, longer dispensation and longer duty to destroy the works of the devil and the Pharisees planned to stone Him so He withdrew from them. That’s why Christ was asking, “have you not read in the Scripture?”.

Therefore, the cleric revealed that Jesus decided to hide Himself because He was to die for our redemption and that death was to be at Calvary, He was not afraid of death, but He was afraid of dying the wrongful death. He should die on the Cross but when they tried to throw stones at Him, He hid Himself.
