Pastor E.A Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God spoke to his members about the need to make positive confessions with their mouths. He said that the events happening to you now may be as a result of the words you have spoken in the past.
According to NDEPO TV, he revealed that in those days when it was difficult for his family to feed, he would always tell his wife to brace up because things would not be tough forever and their tomorrow would be alright. “What are you confessing about your tomorrow, today?” he asked. He then said that a great lesson to learn from the Shunammite woman in 2 Kings 4:18-26 is the need to be careful of what you say, especially when going through a difficult period.
He explained that when her son died, she didn’t state it to her husband or Gehazi, rather, she said, “All will be well” and to the glory of God, the situation became so. He then advised that you need to be careful with words whenever you are angry, sad, rejected, or cheated because there is power in your tongue.
“Have you ever wondered why evil confessions work faster than good ones?” He said that it is because the devil is cunning. He activates evil confessions quickly and makes it difficult to undo the effects of an evil word spoken. Be careful what you say because “thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.”(Proverbs 6:2). You can change things by making positive confessions.
