While speaking on the topic, “Ten Ways to Avoid Having Unnecessary Problems With Your Sheep as a Shepherd”, the Presiding Bishop of Answers Assembly, Warri, Delta State, Bishop Irabor Wisdom said that Shepherds (Pastors) should not lend money to their sheep (church members). The reason, according to him, is that pastors will be the losers if it does not end well because they cannot arrest members under their care.
Speaking further, he said lending them money may kill their faith and respect for the pastor involved. It could also lead to problems that will make the members leave the church. He added that he lost four members whom he thought lending them money would keep them in the church. Consequently, he advised that Pastors can support with what they have if the need is genuine.
