Why the Transgender Movement Is Bad for Everyone

Reasons why everyone loses out on the transgender movement

It seems like one subject has been at the forefront of our cultural debate practically every week for the last year, the time period in which I have been consistently contributing to the Standing for Freedom Center. New stories concerning this problem keep coming out, and each one is worse than the last.

The question is, “What is it?” Transgenderism.

It’s the religion of the willfully ignorant and the physically deranged. When minors are not old enough to purchase cigarettes, they are given hormones and other medications to delay puberty. It’s just a never-ending stream of sickeningly graphic wickedness. Forearms have been taken for their skin, which is then used in “gender-affirming surgery” to create artificial and very ineffective sex organs. It’s accounts of Christians and other truth-tellers who faced retaliation, including the loss of employment or even incarceration, because they refused to adopt the delusional practice of using other pronouns. Adult male soccer players from the Netherlands are dressing like teenage females. Instagram posts by physicians bragging about their double mastectomy successes on otherwise healthy adolescent girls.

All of it is nauseating. And the situation continues to deteriorate rapidly.

The newest development has been reported from Nashville, Tennessee. Conservative pundit Matt Walsh tweeted a thread detailing the atrocities taking place at the transgender clinic at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. This whole tale deserves its own essay, but for now I’ll let Matt sum it up:

My colleagues and I have been doing research at Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Transgender Health Clinic in Nashville. VANDERBILT CASTRATES, CHEMICALLY DRUGS, AND PERFORMS DOUBLE MASTECTOMIES ON CHILDREN. BUT THE SITUATION WILL ONLY DEGRADE FROM HERE ON IN.

Things are going to become far worse. Absolutely, it does. Until we find a permanent solution, the transgender problem will only worsen.

It is important for Christians, conservatives, people of all religions, and all those who value truth to understand that when man plays God, we let the Devil loose. And there is no moral boundary the devil won’t breach. All in all, the transgender enterprise has been nothing but a painful spiral into hell for the many numbers who have fallen for it. As C. S. Lewis’s The Silver Chair’s recurrent theme goes, “Many slip down to the Underworld. Few make it back to the bright realms.”

There are, however, accounts of people who eventually find their way back to the bright realms of reason and learn to love the physical form that God has given them. Here you may see an example of such a testimonial.

Even yet, I’m afraid a lot of people believe the transgender movement is safe, save for in extreme cases. Or if it is harmful, it is only harmful to a small number of people, many of whom may have voluntarily chosen to live a transgender identity or had gender reassignment surgery.

Unfortunately, the transgender movement has negative consequences for everyone involved. I’ll explain why.

The Truth Is Compromised

Transgenderism itself rests on a foundation of deception. No matter how hard you try, you just cannot alter your “gender.” We should probably use the term “biological sex” instead of “gender” here. This ludicrous ideology is more formally known as transsexualism. It is problematic to use the vague idea of gender to categorize individuals based on how they display their “identity.” The concept of “gender identity,” in which a person might be born biologically male but identify as female or vice versa, emerged as a result of this discovery. I’m grossly simplifying a complex idea, but you get the picture.

However, changing your sex is also impossible, and this is the fact that transgenderism strives to hide. Period. Never has it occurred before, and it never will. You’ll never meet a “transgender” person in real life since they don’t exist. Matthew 19:4 quotes Jesus as saying, “Have you not read that in the beginning, he formed them male and female?”

Transgenderism, however, requires further falsehoods to sustain the regime, since it is based on a deception from the start. For this reason, “preferred pronouns” have recently been instituted. Further explanation as to why Twitter is banning those who have pointed out that Lia Thomas is a male.

They didn’t have to, of course.

There will always be a need for a million tiny falsehoods to enroll in the army of one major lie, and battle ferociously to avoid deadly exposure. This deception is that men and women may switch genders. Eventually, the truth will die from a thousand little falsehoods. Because “the truth will set you free,” we must reject this and proclaim the truth (John 8:32).

It’s Horrible for Kids.

“As new gender ideologies are promoted throughout America, their lies will impact not only those who suffer from gender dysphoria but all children who need to mature in their self-understanding as a boy or girl, man or woman, a potential husband or wife, father or mother,” wrote Ryan Anderson in 2018.

Every child is affected badly when false information about transgender people is taught in public schools. Those who never experiment with identifying with the other sex nonetheless feel the pain of those who do.

Transgenderism might be seen as the result of deliberate societal manipulation. Teachers in the public school system have told me personally that being openly gay or transgender is now seen as trendy. Unfortunately, this is as predictable as it is depressing: since our culture has been conditioned to praise and reward manifestations of “authenticity” and “being true to oneself,” “transitioned” teenagers face a self-perpetuating cycle of increasing pressure and acceptance.

At the same time, thousands of youngsters who underwent chemical or physical mutilations in a Quixotic attempt to transition are piling up to become a tsunami of de-transitioned adults. When they finally confront us, asking why we let them, nay, actively encouraged them to make such decisions when they were so young, what will we say to them?

Christians should not sit on the sidelines but rather should be in the forefront of this battle, working to “Rescue those being carried away to death; keep back those staggering toward slaughter” (Proverbs 24:11). To paraphrase the following verse: “If you claim, ‘But we knew nothing about this,’ does not he who weighs the heart discern it?” God will hold us responsible if we don’t. Does he who is responsible for keeping you alive not realize this? Will he not give each person what they deserve? This is from the wise sayings of King Solomon (Proverbs 24:12).

Religious Institutions are Put in Danger

Transgenderism will never have the backing of true Christians. Christ-followers who are really His are not afraid to say what has to be spoken. Be much as it may, we cannot afford to be nave: the transgender movement represents one of the gravest dangers to freedom of religion in recent memory. If legislation similar to the Equality Act were to pass, churches and pastors that refuse to worship the cultural Baal of transgenderism would face the prospect of being sued or closed down.

Preaching the truth about how God created humanity as men and women might be considered hate speech because progressives have interpreted “damage” to include “anything that doesn’t totally validate my lifestyle and choices.” Since the very first verse of the Book of Romans states, “For this reason, God gave them up to dishonorable emotions,” it is safe to say that studying the Book of Romans is out of the question. Because the women have substituted relations that are contrary to nature for those that are natural, and because the men have abandoned natural relations with women in favor of a consuming passion for one another, engaging in shameless acts with one another and thus reaping the just reward for their error (Romans 1:26-27).

When the transgender movement eventually wins, it won’t be because of a kind and kind tyrant. Christians will be branded as bigots, churches will be shut down, and Christian groups will be forced to withdraw from public life.

Socially Toxic

Last but not least, the propagation of extreme gender dogma taints our whole culture.

Please take a time to reflect on how quickly and easily “Call Me Caitlyn” led to the establishment of a transgender clinic at Vanderbilt University. However, this is the nature of sin in human civilization. If nothing is done, it will quickly accelerate to infinity.

Be wary, Jesus admonished His followers, for the false teachers of the day were spreading evil beliefs. A warning: “Beware the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” According to (Matthew 16:6). The church in Corinth and the church in Galatia get the same counsel from Paul: The “yeast” of sin will spread throughout the entire batch of dough if you’re not careful.

This little amount of yeast represents the transgender mindset and behavior that is now on full show in our country. Certainly, this is not a “minor” sin, but rather a monstrous one. Overall, transgenderism and attempts to change one’s gender (whether surgical or not) are destructive rather than liberating.

But if we do nothing, this insanity will spread to every corner of our society, eroding our commitment to truth, harming our children’s futures, stifling our religious freedom, and reducing our country to its knees before the newest monster of the sexual revolution.

It’s only by acknowledging the full scope of transgenderism’s suffering that we can expect to put an end to it. All of the above is the only truthful response.
