In the early hours of today, the internet was on frenzy, following reports of a self acclaimed pastor in Edo state that was caught with female panties, a big bible and laminated pictures of young girls.
It’s gathered that the middle aged man from Edo State who poses as a Pastor was caught this morning with the items at Imiringi in Ogbia LGA of Bayelsa state.
The man after he was caught, was disgraced and shamed by residents and the items inside his bag brought out.
Details of the incident are still sketchy as at the time of filing this report, but it’s alleged that the man was in possession of the items for ritual purpose.
However, social media users who reacted to the news, expresses their shock and disappointment in the man, saying that it seems people are now bearing ‘pastor’ as nickname these days.
“Everyone in Nigeria is chasing money and they don’t care how it comes or what’s involved in making it come,” a social media user said.
In my own opinion, this recent trend of some “pastors” doing fetish things shows how much decay we have in the church. Everyone wants to see visions, prophesy and perform miracles at all cost and that’s why it’s not advisable to jump from pillar to post in the name of ministries because some pastors end up creating bigger problems than the person had before.
May the good Lord help us discern those who are truly called by him and deal with these men who seek nothing but Fame and wealth using the church as a business Arena.
