You Can Preach Prosperity Forever And Die In Poverty – Bishop David Oyedepo Reveals Why

Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide spoke at the Covenant Hour of Prayer. He revealed that revelation is like opportunity knocking on the doors of our hearts time and again. Every time in the Word and you catch a revelation, it’s another knock on the door of your heart.

He read the book of Revelation 3:20 which says:

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me”

According to him, Jesus is the One speaking there, He is the Living Word, the Word knocks on the door of our heart. He said that It is His Word at work in you that God confirms to a testimony. Most people miss out on the blessings that revelations convey without knowing them. Every knock you ignore is another loss recorded. Every knock of revelation you ignore is another opportunity missed, it’s another blessing lost because every revelation comes along with its blessings. “Every Word of the Lord carries a blessing along and when you ignore the revelation, you have lost the blessing,” he said.

He further inquired if they can number how many Founders of Churches and great ministries are frustrated today. God is no respecter of persons. You don’t walk in the light, you suffer the horror of darkness. The things you teach won’t benefit you without doing it. He said that you can preach prosperity forever and die in poverty. It doesn’t answer to preachers, it answers to practitioners!!

He said that if you are teaching about the kingdom and you are not seeking it, you won’t see favour. It is not what we teach, it is not what we preach, it is not the Church that we go but where we stand in the truth. Where we stand in the truth is what defines the wonders that await us in the future.

According to him, a good Church is vital, it offers you opportunities to access revelation where the truth is preached and practiced. Preached and practiced and with proofs that cannot be denied. It is a great place to be, because that light through the light of the fellows around you, you will see light. That is the beauty of a Word practicing Church. We access and choose to engage with revelations as individuals and not as groups.

Finally, he said that if you don’t respond to the first instruction, the first revelation, you are not a candidate for the next. You respond to it, then the next comes, and then to the next and the next comes. He advised them to watch people that flow in revelations, they are Word dedicated, addicted Word practitioners. As they respond to one, He unveils the next. As they respond to another, He unveils the next. That is the making of giants in the Kingdom.
