Anytime you murmur, you are harbouring a negative attitude towards a situation or the people involved. As a Christian, you are not expected to murmur when faced with ugly situations, but you are expected to pray, because Philippians 4:6 says you should not worry about anything, instead you should pray about everything.
Bishop David Oyedepo said that you should not let murmur and complain steal your joy, because God cannot endure an environment that is void of joy.
Sadly, many Christians are murmurers and complainers. They see nothing good in life. To them, everything is bad, they think their lives is miserable, and as such they lack joy. They want to make life miserable for everyone else.
Murmuring and complaining are sins, because Philippians 2:14-15 says you should do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.
